Thank you for checking out my site. I am just starting out small for now, but looking forward to expanding my breeding program in the near future.
I am the proud owner of a 28 year old gelding that I have had for 10 years now. 'Jack of All Trades' is the name I chose for him because he is just that. Jack and I have done cutting, cattle penning, swimming, trails, barrels and reining. Non professionally, but have had a lot of fun doing it all. He is the best horse to do anything with. (R.I.P Jack. January 30 2010. I will love you always and forever xox)
As for my experience with horses, I have been around horses all my life. I started really riding when I was 10. Taking lessons on a pony that I thought was so big, but now I realize he was only about 12HH!
My first pony I had was a 13.2H pinto pony. I was 12 years old. Lil Chitapache (Chitters) was great. I would ride everyday. We would go trail riding, jumping, running around the pasture, or I would just sit on him backwards while he grazed and I read my horse novels. We would even ride down the road and get buckets of hazelnuts to bring home. He was great.
I rode a lot of my friends’ horses over the years until I was 15; I got an Arab.
Tannar was an interesting guy. He taught me how to stay on, 'cause if I didn't, I would be left behind! Everytime we would go for a road ride, he would be scared of bridges, rocks, yellow and red cars and convertibles, just to keep it interesting, I'm sure. But other than that, he was great, and very smart, too.
He was an awesome little jumper, as well. I would take him over anything! Bareback in a halter and lead rope, and he would clear it so smoothly, all the jumps felt small.
He would also join us around the bonfire. He loved when I cooked him marshmellows, he ate them right off the stick.
We gave him away to a wonderful home, and at the young age of 24, he's still doing great and looking awesome!
I have worked at many barns over the years and I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of great people and horses. My best time was at a riding stable that took out guided rides. I started there when I was 14. I was a trail guide. We took out 1,2, and 4 hour rides and all day rides. Those were nice!
At times, we would get 20 people on one ride. It was so much fun! I learned a lot about confidence as a rider, because you would never be sure what guide horse you were going to be riding that day on the trail. And they had many! With all different sizes and personalities.
My next 3 horses were Jack (see his page), Sizzle (see his page), and a beautiful palomino paint mare Miss Skippa Cita. She was 2 when I got her. I had her for 2 yrs. She was my first "baby". She had points in halter already as a yearling. This mare was stunning. I had lessons on her and then had her professionally trained by Carl Woods. I remember the first time I rode her after the first of her 3 months training, she was so great, I actually cried! She did very well for a while, but I realized that her calling was under an english saddle, not a western one. I sold her to a wonderful girl that has shown her in dressage, jumping, cross country and more. And she has done very well with her. Cita found what she was meant to do.
I now own 3 mares that will be with me for a long time. I love them so much. Each having different personalities. They will be my main mares. Hopefully I will be able to add more, but for now, these girls are superb for what I am hoping to do.
I enjoy working with horses. Every day is a "spa day" for me when I'm around them. You can never stop learning about these animals and that's what I love the most.
I'm very excited to see what the future has in store for me and my horses.
